Flush distinction

Hand flush and crib flush are different

The starter’s suit matters in a specific way.

Select the correct mode

Cribbage Pro’s published chart distinguishes a four-card hand flush from a crib flush. A crib flush requires all five cards, including the starter; an ordinary hand may score four for its four original cards.

Try one controlled comparison

Use the calculator’s flush preset, then change only the mode. Keeping the cards fixed makes the difference easier to inspect. Do not replace an original card with the starter in order to create a supposed four-card flush.

Keep other settings separate

If a group uses an optional convention, record it beside the complete source. Our calculator has only ordinary Hand and Crib show modes; it does not apply house-rule exceptions.
