Format used here
Pagat’s two-player six-card account uses a standard deck. Each player receives six cards and sets two aside to form the dealer’s crib. A separate starter is used when counting the show.
Keep the areas distinct
During teaching, label the retained cards, crib and starter. Ask a learner to describe the area they mean before moving a card. A clean layout makes a question easier to assess than a pile of cards with no phase label.
